Kim and Jason Wedding Slideshow

Kim and Jason Wedding Slideshow (click for bigger version) from Akwoo on Vimeo.

This video was immediately produced after the wedding ceremony to be played as a special item at the dinner reception on the same day. We know that there are some minor flaws, but as you can understand, we were given four hours to edit and combine the photos and video together into a single coherent slideshow. This excludes one hour of exporting the video into 720P MOV H.264 file! This video is in its original form without any further enhancements.

We couldn’t have done it without God helping us get through the pressure. It was an incredible mad experience. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to showcase our photography and thrilled to hear that the newlyweds and guests loved the wedding slideshow. Thank you once again for all your encouraging and positive feedback.

Happy marriage Kim and Jason!

If you loved the photos, please feel free to leave a comment on Akwoo Google Review. Thanks for your support

American Photo – Top 10 Wedding Photographers of 2009

April 9th, 2009 by Akwoo

American Photo have announced their 2009 Top 10 Wedding Photographers at the following site -

2009 Winners

Totally different list than what i’m used to, looks like all the winners from last year are all gone but some were still nominated. All the non American photographers are all gone, I vaguely remember people previously complaining that that majority of photographers were all from Americans and this was not a true list. Looks like they decided to keep it simple and keep it to Americans in the end, the magazine is called ‘American Photo’.

The only one that I know and have been watching on this list has been Jasmine Star, you might remember my Untraditional Bride article, congratulations Jasmine (lifts my jar of mustard in the air).

Congratulations to all the winners this year. Looking forward to looking at your work.

I have noticed the stationary world has definately lifted its standard in recent years in terms of amazing creativitity, funky designs and lots of new great ideas especially for weddings. Many shops have been opening in shopping centres and even online. Today, I would love to highlight the exclusive stationary supplier Alannah Rose – http://www.alannahrose.com.au. Check out her web page, you will definately find something is not only useful but looks great. If you haven’t done your wedding invites yet, definately check out their work.

havaianas, igoogle and firefox – making my life easier

March 31st, 2009 by Alan

I love having everything that I use on the internet in the one spot.

Some of you might have noticed my igoogle with Havaianas theme! Well igoogle and firefox allow me to keep all my daily items all at the one location. It is awesome, check out my igoogle set up below.

(Gotta love Havaianas, anyone recommend some good places to buy unique Havaianas?)

My latest revision of my ‘front page’ tab

My latest revision of igoogle - Front Page

My ‘front page’ tab must have igoogle add ons.

  • Google Reader – Feeds all stuff from my favourite blogs and web pages. Gotta love RSS!
  • Gmail – Checks my email.
  • Flickr – Daily inspiration and my flickr updates.
  • Weather – How’s the sky looking?
  • Twitter Gadget – My latest gadget, updates my twitter and my facebook status is also syncronised with my twitter. :P Yes i’m a little tech geek.

My ’sometimes’ tab

igoogle - sometimes page

My ’sometimes’ tab igoogle add ons.

  • Petrol Price Tracker – good for finding the best priced petrol around the place.
  • Currency Conversion – great working how much that stuff costs overseas.
  • Australian Stock Exchange – nothing there, haha, not going to look at that anytime soon.
  • Facebook – usually just log in to web page.

Firefox Must Have Add Ons

  • Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronisers, syncs my internet favourite bookmarks on all my computers. Yes this is awesome, after adding my bookmarks at work, they appear when I get home! Highly recommend.

  • WiseStamp – Add pretty email signatures in gmail.
  • Exif viewer – Allows me to find out more information on the image e.g. What camera? aperture? shutter speed?

Old Railway and Blundell Cottage Canberra

March 30th, 2009 by Akwoo

We were on a look-out for some amazing vintage sites in Canberra over the weekend, and to our pleasant surprise we discovered the old Railway Museum in Kingston. I can’t believe after all these years living in Canberra, we never visited this site. The museum opens every Sunday from 10:00 to 4:00pm, but unfortunately it was Saturday when we arrived so we didn’t get to go inside. Instead we scouted around the outside and we found these interesting old train carriages…..

We also visited the new Portrait Gallery in Canberra. The building had vibrant colours and interesting and modern architecture. If you have the opportunity to pass by Canberra, we highly recommend that you visit the Portrait Gallery, National Museum, and even new shops in the surburb of Parkes. You’ll need to walk through the building where you’ll come across interesting artwork which is another fantastic site for photography enthusiasts.
